Volunteer Tutors
Become a volunteer for our youth tutoring summer program!
What is Youth Tutors?
Here at youth tutors, we offer a free, virtual, 1 on 1 program during the summer of 2021. It is our goal to help children academically in grades kindergarten through 6th who have fallen behind due to the transition to online education. The program will begin in June and run until July.
Volunteers
Volunteer tutoring is a non-paid position available for high school students. Requirements below.
Requirements
- Be committed to devoting about 2-4 hours a week to tutoring
- High school students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Prior tutor experience preferred but not required.
- *English/Spanish bilingual abilities are a plus.
Tutoring subjects include math and reading.
Benefits
This is a good opportunity for high school students to earn community service hours for college! You can also develop a variety of reliable skills such as tailoring resources for individual needs, explaining concepts, maintaining a role-model status, and of course social and communication skills. All while helping to develop young children.
